Overall this is a great method book but I wish the publisher would fix the glaring errors.By Piano Man New HampshireSomehow; the new; blue-covered edition acquired a bizarre error that the yellow-covered edition didnt have. Balkan Bagatelle; which is in the key of E minor; has the F# printed in the first space of treble clef rather than on the top line. Other than having a chimpanzee in charge of the new edition; I have no explanation for how or why this could have happened. All of the old timing errors from the old; yellow-covered edition have been genetically passed along to the new; blue-covered edition. There are six beats in the bass clefs last measure of White Sails - a tune thats in 5-4 time. Theres a 4-4 time signature in The Birch Tree which is notated with two quarter note beats in a measure. Overall this is a great method book but I wish the publisher would fix the glaring errors that have been lurking on the pages of this method book for the past four decades.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great for older beginnersBy Helen MayerI am a piano teacher; and used to use this book for years for my older and adult beginners. I ran out on this product (I used to get them a couple at a time to pass out to students; as it was hard to get); and ran into the problem of not being able to locate any more. I decided to have a look the other day; and was so happy to order more. Denes Agay makes an accompanying Technique book; but its not available on or in the States; I think...I wish would carry that...1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
