This guide surveys these problems; devoting a chapter to each principal theory and offering a complete history of tuning and temperament. Requires minimal background in music theory. I ordered and received the book before getting the present and Im so glad I did. I have used Nikon cameras for over 20 years and thought this book might be too basic. Its not too basic. There are many features on the D5300 that are not adequately covered in the Nikon manual (I have not bothered to see whats on the CD that was included with the camera). Furthermore; the book explains many aspects of Nikon digital photography that I never thought about. If you are spending big bucks for the camera; you need to buy this book. Also; buy the HB-69 Bayonet Lens Hood if you have the 18-55 VRII lens. Both of these items are relatively inexpensive and they will help you take better looking pictures.12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Useful!By Matteo ReganoAs pointed out by the author; camera manuals are not written by photographers; thats why buying Nikon D5300 Digital Field Guide is a good idea. The many functions of the camera are explained in detail in an a way anyone can understand; even newbies.Graphic layout is pleasant; all pictures are in full color and the book is small enough to fit any camera bag/backpack in case of need.Highly recommended.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. In depth but lacks somethingBy EricIn-Depth Guide but still lacks something important. I think this is great for someone who is getting the d5300 as a gift. But if you are an intermediate photographer; you may want to take a course online or get a better idea from a person instead of using this field guide. It covers a range of topics but does not delve into complete depth. Overall great however!
