This study explores the relationship between synesthesiamdash;the experience of a sensation in one perceptual domain triggering a sensation in another perceptual domainmdash;and the arts (including painting; photography; music and literature). Its aim is twofold: to introduce readers as yet unfamiliar with synesthesia to this intriguing phenomenon by focusing on its impact on the creation and reception of art; and to alert readers already conversant with synesthesia in its many manifestations to its potential to encourage fresh ways of approaching art; of understanding the part played by our bodies in its production and receipt and; by extension; of reassessing our position in nature as humans.

A very easy read about an absolutely remarkable woman.By Kindle CustomerI came across Vinnie Reams name while researching the artists who sculpted many of the pieces in our church yard. As a bit of a Civil War buff; I was amazed that I had never heard of the teenage girl whose sculpture of Lincoln stands in the U.S.Capitol; particularly since she was absolutely notorious in Washington political society. Coopers book was just what I needed to get a background on Vinnie and boy was it fun to read! In addition to having talent; she must have been the sexiest most beguiling woman in DC.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good HistoryBy Gordon Harry Meiners Sr.By tying together many who were in the life on Vinnie Ream; one gets a good idea of people who were interacting at the time and realizes that politics and lobbying to get money from Congress has not changed much over the years.
