While anthologies like these are frequently of dubious value; Rewriting Conceptual Art manages to bring together significant academics and critics and address major new issues in our understanding of the art of the later 1960s and early 1970s. This is true not just of two or three of the contributions -- all of them are worth repeated readings. A specialized volume; no doubt; but essential for those studying this moment.
