It starts out with some disgusting pictures and then goes to tell you about one to two sentences about each "gross" thing. Some of the gross things in the book are leeches; which are gross; humans parasitic worms; also gross. Then it tells you about things like snakes and scorpions; which are possibly scary and dangerous but I would not consider them gross. The information about Tarantulas only says that their bites feel like the stings of a bee. This is not gross. This is just one tiny fact. This and other e-books like it make me wish for more information. My son is young but a good reader. He wants interesting facts but is not satisfied with just one line about each topic. I wish this book was better because my son is a typical boy and loves yucky stuff. I do not believe that this book is worth the price.I bought this book at regular price for my own personal use.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This ebook is free right now so grab it now while you can but I wouldnt pay for it.By ElizabethNot what I was expecting. As another reviewer (Barbi Bee) noted this book has lots of wrong pictures. (She reviewed it on March 18; 2016 if you want to look it up to see what she says.)The book contains lots of information about ticks but some of the Yucky information is not yucky. For example; the book says a few times about how certain ticks are confused for each other. Well; thats not yucky information that my kids enjoy. They would rather hear about how a ticks head could get stuck in someones skin or even about lyme disease. Also; it talks about snakes and how deadly they are but again; they arent talking about how gross they are. Maybe they could talk about what their scales feel like or how they shed their skin. This ebook is free right now so grab it now while you can but I wouldnt pay for it.***** I received this ebook for free in exchange for my honest review. *****1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. My 10 yr old really enjoyed itBy Happy FamilyThis was a really interesting book for our family; and especially for me. We read this book together; with my 10 year old doing the reading (which impresses me every time). I dont remember learning all the weird yuck stuff bits that were included in this book in my childhood. The illustrations were interesting; though in this book; the facts were fun as well. The book format really highlights the images and gives ample time for talking about the pictures. One spread has an image with a couple of sentences; then the next is simply an image. This repeats throughout the book and gives a great format for reading together. This book gives enough information to build a foundation; without being too in-depth or overwhelming. For us; it was random; for others; it would work well. I also think this book would work well for a classroom; because there is a lot of opportunity for talking about the pictures; or even completing a written or drawing assignment. Personally; as a homeschooler; I love books like this one that give valuable information in a quick and easy to digest format.Overall: Neat information; as quick or slow as you make it. We enjoyed it; and I think that most young children would be interested in reading this with their grown-up.The Kindle version of this book was provided to me for free; with the expectation that I review it honestly.
