Julius Caesar [with Biographical Introduction]

audiobook Julius Caesar [with Biographical Introduction] by William Shakespeare in Arts-Photography

Description

William Shakespeares "Julius Caesar" is the first of three Roman history plays that Shakespeare would write. Closely based on actual events as chronicled in Plutarchs "Lives"; it is the story of the tragic downfall of Julius Caesar and of those who conspire against him. At the beginning of the play it is feared that Julius Caesar wishes to make himself the King and thus dictator of Rome. From this fear a plan to kill him is hatched. Some of Shakespeares most memorable lines can be found here in what is considered by many to be one of the greatest tragedies ever written.

Waivers between intensely fascinating and excruciatingly boring.By Mitchell KingFirst off: if you fancy yourself a hip-hop historian; you CANNOT have a fully formed opinion on the N.W.A story without Jerry Hellers point of view. If you know anything about Jerry then you know you must take everything in this book with a grain of salt; but as long as you read it through that lens; there is a lot of fascinating information to gleaned. Having said that; right as the story is at its most interesting and the book should be reaching its climax; Jerry bafflingly derails into talking about his time as a manager in the 60s and 70s; the bulk of which you will possibly not remotely care about. I read these chapters thinking that he was building toward some larger point relating to his time with N.W.A; but it was all for nothing. You are good to skip those chapters if you want without missing anything important regarding Eazy-E or Ruthless Records. Aside from that a great read. Just remember: trust Jerrys perspective at your own risk.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Dr. Dre was very instrumental on assisting with making them a organization to wrecking with in the music industry. I could not book the book down.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good enough.By The RakeAbout half of this is devoted to NWA; the other half is more focused on Hellers career in general; involving several other acts. People that know a ton about NWA (before or after the movie I suppose) may not get as much out of this as hoped. At the same time; I think Heller is very thoughtful in expressing himself and at least honest from his point of view. I wanted a bit more (as I did from the film); but that doesnt mean it wasnt enjoyable. Anyone interested in being an agent or the filed of music in general may get more out of it. Good enough.
