A fantastic text that breaks down the Platonic and Aristotelian theories ...By Star-SoldierA fantastic text that breaks down the Platonic and Aristotelian theories popular in the Renaissance era and makes them accessible to the modern reader. A great book on the mechanical and philosophical theories of celestial rays and the effects of astrological talismans on individuals. The author does a great job of breaking down the arguments of Marsilio Ficino in response to some of his theological opponents about the nature and effects of astrological talismans and images. This is just a really great work in general and any individual who is serious about astrology; electional astrology; and astrological magic should really give this book a read. The language and information is just so accessible that coming into it with just a little bit of basic knowledge will allow you to walk out with a great philosophical understanding of the way these practices were understood and utilized in the past.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
