You open it anywhere and on the left page there is a quote by either the author or someone in the movie business; politics; former President or the Duke himself. On the right page (facing the quote) is a photo of the Duke at various stages of his career/life. When this arrived; I opened it up to browse thru it quickly before I left for an appointment. One page led to another and another. I said to myself; "I have got to put this down and read it later or I will be late for my appointment". I kept saying; "just one more page and then I will quit". A few hours later I finished the book after canceling my appointment with some lame excuse like; "the dog got sick and barfed all over the carpeting". I keep the book on the coffee table in my John Wayne room (home theater John Wayne memorabilia) and invariably my guests who come over to watch a movie; pick it up to thumb thru it and end up reading most of it. God; I miss the Duke! Clint is a close second but it wont be long before he is gone also.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Its okayBy AuntieBI am a huge John Wayne fan and although it was fun to thumb through this book have to agree with some of the other reviewers when I say that the proof reading was horrible. I dont know how this happened and feel like it is a disservice to John Wayne to release something so poorly edited. Its the Duke; what more do you need to sayBy Janet collinsI bought this book for my husband who is a big John Wayne fan. He collects all kinds of John Wayne memorabilia. He was so into the book that I read it too. The pictures are wonderful and I particularly loved all the John Wayne quotes. Any of the Dukes fans will enjoy this book.
