SPECTACULAR pictures!By S JacksonWhen rating childrenrsquo;s books I like to go by these guidelines. I currently teach a multiage classroom of 1st and 2nd graders with varying ability levels from non readers to students reading at or above a 5th grade level.My rating: I give this Kindle version of this book 5 stars.What or if I would use this for: I would use this book while teaching expository text. I would also use it to motivate students to read because it is an exciting book because of the pictures.What my students thought: my students loved the pictures and they have been asking if they can read it again on my Kindle.The students loved that there were so many animals in it!Quality of photographs or illustrations: The photographs are spectacular.Depth of knowledge: there is a lot of information in the book but it is not particularly organized in anyway. I would use it as A way to teach the students how you could better organize a book so that you can locate information easier. Such as the table of contents a glossary and index. I would also include more text boxes and fun facts. So that the book is not so redundant. BUT IT IS LONG! Not a bedtime book!Text quality: I thought the font for this book was perfect. I really dont have anything negative to say about the font it was not too large it was not too small its not take up too much of the page or too little of the page the placement was just right so I cant complain about the text quality. The only thing I dont like about it is that the placement is little redundant. I wish they would have made it look more appealing.╰☆╮஠I did get a discount for my honest review of this book. Awesome visuals as well!By Brad and April McKinleySo many different animals and so many different fun facts that keeps the reader engaged the entire time! There was roughly 23 different animals to read about and see in this book. The images were actual photos of animals which is huge for me and teaching my son about them. Overall; I would definitely recommend this book as almost every single kid Ive ever met loves animals and learning about them! But I have to admit I was a ...By Ravensarra25Ive read a few other book by the same author that I really liked. But I have to admit I was a little disappointed in this one. The author tried to cover way too many animals with only one or two facts. In my opinion (which is just an opinion) I would have liked it better if the author had chosen even just half of the animals in this book and given more information on those picked. Im always one for learning for new facts; but this book just gives basic information that pretty much everyone knows. Although; I did learn that a rhinos horn is a compacted mass of hairs. So I guess I at least learned one fact.Compared to the other books Ive read by this author; this one just doesnt compare. Stick to one or two things and give a bunch of facts...The photographs however are amazing as always. Such beautiful wildlife in some amazing environments.Be sure to check out other books by this author.
