Vor 90 Jahren feierte die Kunstszene den Maler Edvard Munch (1863-1944) als den bedeutendsten lebenden Kuuml;nstler neben Picasso und als den Wegbereiter fuuml;r die Moderne. Ausgelouml;st wurde der Jubel durch die Kouml;lner Sonderbund Ausstellung. Welche Bilder damals zu sehen waren; zeigt heute die Kunsthalle Bielefeld. Der endguuml;ltige kuuml;nstlerische Durchbruch gelang Munch 1912 mit der Sonderbund-Ausstellung in Kouml;ln. Danach wurde er in ganz Deutschland bekannt. Urspruuml;nglich Platz fuuml;r rund 25 Gemauml;lde. Es wurden dann doch 32 ausgestellt; die einen umfassenden Uuml;berblick uuml;ber Munchs bisheriges Werk gaben.Im Ehrensaal der Sonderbund-Ausstellung hatte Munch eine persouml;nlich inszenierte Ausstellung von 32 Werken prauml;sentiert. Auch wenn es nicht mouml;glich war; alle Exemplare; die es damals in Kouml;ln zu bestaunen gab; heran zu holen; bemuuml;ht sich die Kunsthalle Bielefeld; die Schau von einst zu rekonstruieren. Ein Kurzfilm zum Leben und Schaffen des Kuuml;nstlers ist fuuml;r den Besucher eine willkommene Einfuuml;hrung in das Thema. Groszlig;formatige Schwarz-Weiszlig;-Fotokopien lassen erahnen; wie und wo die Bilder vor gut 90 Jahren hingen.ldquo;

Included are a wide assortment of the authors photographs which he uses as examples of the concepts and techniques he describes in the book. While its true that some of these tips are pretty universal; such as how to set up for shooting in your backyard; there are some techniques I had never heard of before. Proper use of the equipment is also a pretty valuable part of the book. I would say its one of the top 3 bird photography books Ive read so far.3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great read on photographing birdsBy Jerryj98501Another great book on bird photography. Mark goes through the whole process of choosing a camera and accessories with much up to date information. Many of his photos back up the information he is bring forth and are of high quality. Mark has several ideas for setting up an environment for photographing birds in your backyard and also what to look for when visiting a nature reserve. His post processing and sharing of photos is also covered. Reading his guidelines for working in the field are another reminder of how to approach photographing birds without stressing them should be required reading before leaving the house.
