One can actually feel the emotions and purpose of these dramatic depictions of ethereal messengers; warriors; and symbols in Dores marvelous illustrations! Epic scenes and tales are brought to a visual panorama that is a feast for the soul with Dores woodcuts; drawings; and prints in a volume at home on the shelves of the art-student; theologian; and literature connoisseur alike. A Heavenly addition to your collection; indeed!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Poor contrast and print qualityBy Maria NThe book contains good historic information but is not printed well. Also; it arrived with a bent corner. I wish they had printed it better; most of the images are of low contrast; they dont reflect the originals well at all.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. good book for Dore fansBy Daniel ScalphDores art is beautiful as always; but the book had less plates than I was hoping for. However; the price was right so Im not complaining. A good book to show children interested in art; since there arent any of the more frightening or disturbing images that sometimes are in Dore collections.
