I consider myself a theater artist; who is enjoys discovering plays and playwrights I have previously not come across; so having so many plays under this one volume (23 I think) was great. The variety of plays was excellent too. Many of the plays dealt with the attraction of two people; with the third person complicating the matter; but many dealt with topics like abortion; slavery; incest; not wanting to grown up; etc. This collection is unique; with the three person theme; and I would recommend it any theater artist and I feel like there is something in the collection for everyone. My favorite plays in here were "Ex-Libris"; "Sex with A Mathematician"; "Shades"; and "Lady"; all of which I am now considering trying to produce in the near future.Thank you to Netgalley; Eric Lane and Nina Shengold; and Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group for providing me a free copy in exchange for a honest review!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A nice little collectionBy A. MayYou win some you lose some in any anthology volume or collection. All told; I fill like this volume is a good investment for a trio or for a group looking to put on plays with smaller casts. Some are also very entertaining reads in and of themselves. I am going with four stars versus three because I felt the good outweighed the bad; but your results may vary.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Valuable CollectionBy Carol WestonShort; sweet; funny; spicy; surprising. Sure; youll like some more than others; but the range is fun and useful too; whether you are preparing an audition or choosing a short evening of short plays.
