After reading the book; not so much; What a psyco; stuck up; self important; obnoxious JERK. I am crushed. He was one of my idols. What really amazes me is that with his level of substance abuse; how he could work at all. This is a well written; fast paced book; but it doesnt have any insights directly from the Subject; so you only see him through others words; which is a shame. However; I totally understand that Georgie would not be a great subject to interview. He was a contradiction in terms; because he had a towering talent and one of the greatest actors of his generation; and he did have some good qualities. However; I could not get over how aloof he was with many of his his colleagues; and how he was really a full blown Diva; I can almost hear him exclaiming. "im an ARTISTE!" His wife; the late great Colleen Dewhurst sounds like she should be a candidate for sainthood. His fifth wife; the sub par talent Trish VanDevere comes off like she was a home wrecking whore. I guess we could say he was a troubled genius; with personal demons; but I just think he was a spoiled tantrum throwing; woman beating brat who deserved those broken noses he got. Great read.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Accurate but not a page turnerBy JakeThe research is good. It is very complete. Scott was not a very nice man and Sheward doesnt try and dodge it or excuse it.I would rate the book higher but the writing is not particularly inspired. Statement; quote; statement quote. By sticking to sometimes cautious sourcing; he maintains accuracy but it has a deadening affect that doesnt exactly keep the pages flying with nothing colorful coming from the author. Scott was an amazing actor..0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Get it used or from the libraryBy Theodore A SundinBoring portrait of a gifted actor. Not enough info about children
