Awesome introductory text to urban agricultural designBy walkingrockWhen I got this textbook I pored through it as eagerly as when I got my very first texts for college classes I couldnt wait to take. Much like those long ago texts; this book opens a world that is a three dimensional overview of urban agriculture and design considerations. The photos and details about projects; including funding sources and architects; really support further investigation into the specifics of any given project. This is a solid introductory text with enough detail to keep it relevant as a reference text. It is readable and interesting. The important connections between each project design/purpose and the people it serves are delineated.Heads up: It is NOT a how-to book. It is a concepts and considerations book that gives a big picture overview of what large; sustainable projects look like and to borrow a phrase from Peace Corps; the proper prior planning to prevent poor performance that goes in on the front end of such endeavors.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
