EYE CANDY...my review is for the 1998 second printing--hardcover.By BAMI ran accross this book in a thrift store. What a find! The photography is beautiful. This could definitely be a coffee table book. The landscaping could be adjusted to any climate; other than a desert environment; by simply substituting different plants. Yes; there would be a difference; but the feel of the composition could be emulated.I have been studying the French art of Trompe Loeil of late. A number of the photographs in this book would translate well to wall murals. They are so beautiful! There are several pictures of ponds; sweimming pools; sea scapes and water ways in this volume. One of the swimming pools was an extension of lave rock. There was tile used on some pool surfaces; but the lava rock extended into the pool in several places. Very organic and free flowing. In addition to simply showing gardens; the reader is treated to views of homes and buildings that blend with the gardens. I purchased one idea that will work with our house design. The cover on my volume is different than the one pictured. However; the title and authors match. I most likely would not have sought out this volume on ; but I am very glad I found it. It is a treasure to be enjoyed.
