I currently teach a multiage classroom of 1st and 2nd graders with varying ability levels from non readers to students reading at or above a 5th grade level. My rating: Five stars!!What or if I would use this for: I did use this book when I babysat a friend of mines child- she is 5 years old. I brought my laptop along. She loves animals and loves books. I thought this might take up a few minutes of our time in entertaining and teaching her. I was right! Because she is five years old-I had to explain a few things- like on the Zebra fact page. She didnt quite understand what different stripes had to do with camouflage- so I had to make it a little more simple when explaining. What the child thought: She loved the pictures- and tried following along as I read it to her.Quality of photographs or illustrations: Excellent!Depth of knowledge: I really like that the facts are so in depth that I have to take time to explain them to a younger child.Text quality/format: The format of the text is very appealing.╰☆╮ஐ I did get a discount for my honest review of this book. I test all products/read all book through- before reviewing them. I am ALWAYS honest in the reviews I give. I will not give 5 stars unless I think it is accurate in the description and high quality. Beautiful pictures with simple facts great for young childrenBy JillianI love this kindle book ldquo;Spots and Stripes Animal Kingdomrdquo; by Speedy Publishing. They have really done a great job of writing engaging; fun books for school age children. This book is geared for early school years up to maybe second grade. That being said; I think even adults will learn many new facts; I know I did; but the book is written for children. It delves into many animal species from fish to tigers to dogs. The pictures are amazing; high color photos of a wide variety of animals. Very close up; clear photography. There are none that are violent or scary. The photos are all very beautiful; wonderful pictures.I think this book is a must for anyone who loves wildlife or just wants to learn about them in general but it is written with a younger child in mind. Simple thoughts and words that even a preschool would comprehend. It is really a high quality book. It will make your child think about extinction and conservation while gaining a greater appreciation for animals in the wild. The pictures alone are a great selling point but the facts only number around 15.Disclosure: I received this sample product at a free or discount rate in exchange for an honest appraisal of the item. I was asked to review it truthfully; no matter what star rating I gave; and I intend to do that. I do test out every product I get so I can give a worthwhile review. I hope that my review has helped in your decision to purchase this item or not.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Overall; I cute book but I wouldve been disappointed if I had paid for it.By ElizabethThis ebook is cute but I probably wouldve been disappointed if I had paid for it. Its offered for free right now so grab it while you can. Also; if you are in the market for these kinds of books check out other Speedy Publishing books. There are over 200 of these kids of books and many are offered for free on right now. I would check back later as well because they seem to rotate through which ones are free. I am not a fan of all the book they have but there are some really cute ones out there and they are great boredom busters for the kids. This particular ebook is cute but at times seems very random. For example there are pictures in the book that dont relate to the text. There is a picture of a striped fish and later in the book of a shark but there isnt a reference to either of them. They talk about the zebra and have some photos of them but then later in the book a couple picture of zebras show back up.There are random fun facts related to the animals which my kids love. I we also like the pictures. Overall; I cute book but I wouldve been disappointed if I had paid for it.***** I received this ebook for free in exchange for my honest review. *****
