The work of two notable French illustrators; this rich kaleidoscope of arcs and angles represents a transitional period between the luxuriant curvilinear designs of Art Nouveau and the streamlined modernism of Art Deco.Deeply influenced by Cubism; Neo-Impressionism; and other modernist movements; the Verneuils created a dazzling series of designs that reflect the spirit of these dynamic movements and the developing sensibilities of Art Deco design. Good book for recreational piano playingBy vsqpersonIf you are a pianist; this is an excellent book to have in your collection of recreational pieces. However; I gave this rating a 4 instead of a 5 because I; (being 70 years old) expected to know more of the songs listed. The arrangements are OK; but many of these "standards" are pretty hard to sing (if you have a singer looking over your shoulder).
