2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. But I was soon disappointed. None of the photographs are captionedBy Diana H. MaineNATIONS OF AFRICA is an E-Book sent to me by Speedy Publishing in exchange for an honest review. The photographs are stunning - clear; crisp; interesting - I was very excited to explore the book. But I was soon disappointed. None of the photographs are captioned. If a person is photographed in lsquo;tribal dress/clothingrsquo; - what tribe or group is represented? I think it would be helpful/informative to know. There is one photograph of a man with a very enlarged (plate-sized) lip. What child (or adult) isnrsquo;t going to ask how that happened? The photographs of animals are easily recognizable; but I would still like a caption. Where does this animal live in Africa? The book was a series of stunning photographs (which were not captioned or seemed to have any order or purpose) interspersed with lsquo;factsrsquo; that were not illustrated or explained in any way.For example. Africa is a continent. Show me a globe or map with Africa highlighted . Otherwise that fact means nothing to me. I want maps that show me the Serengeti; Lake Malawi; Cairo; the Sahara Desert. The vocabulary words were not appropriate to a picture book audience.de facto independent states (means what?)Pharaonic Civilization (means what?) hominidae clade (?) hominids (?)Sahelanthropus tchadensis (?) megafauna (?) illiterate (?) Islam (?)Not only do I need a dictionary. I need a pronunciation guide; also. (And I am the adult/teacher!)This lsquo;bookrsquo; seemed like a lsquo;slapped-togetherrsquo; power point project. I would not recommend it.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Nations Of AfricaBy ALYThis book was good but about 8% into this book was blank pages for me. I was reading this on my Kindle so I dont know if the file was corrupt or what. Not sure what happened. But the pictures I saw were very good as well in this book. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
