A great story of how the bass evolved with awesome photos and interviews. This book mainly focuses on Fender and why not the inventor of the bass guitar.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. An EXCELLENT book regarding the history and development of the bass ...By Kenneth JenningsAn EXCELLENT book regarding the history and development of the bass guitar from the very beginning up until present. The pictures themselves will likely cause many bass players to crave another instrument; however; the well laid out catalog of information included in makes it a must have.Every serious bass player should have this in their library.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Excellent book; was it supposed to be black and white?By Lucy CatThis is a great book; well written and researched and contains a treasure trove of wonderful photos. However; my copy of the book was printed on extremely thin; cheap copy paper and the pages were merely photocopied (as if it were a proof copy). I am not sure if this was correct or intentional; but I was expecting a full-color book. The photos are admittedly much less interesting and enjoyable when its printed at such low quality; but I still greatly enjoyed the writing and information.
