Please Be with Me: A Song for My Father; Duane Allman

ePub Please Be with Me: A Song for My Father; Duane Allman by Galadrielle Allman in Arts-Photography

Description

Viene il momento in cui lrsquo;autore deve affrontare la piugrave; difficile delle sue fatiche: la narrazione della propria vita. Dovrebbe - lrsquo;esistenza vissuta - essere il migliore dei suoi capolavori. Ma nel raccontarla sorge un temibile pericolo: lrsquo;obiettivitagrave;. Essere obiettivi nei confronti della propria vita egrave; arduo. Chi vuole esserlo deve togliersi la maschera; essere onesto con se stesso; confessarsi hellip; Qui lrsquo;autore; insieme al resoconto della propria esistenza; traccia il percorso di unrsquo;esperienza religiosa; che parte dallrsquo;educazione convenzionale; prosegue con una fase di ateismo e la perdita di fiducia verso ogni idea di Trascendenza. Ma improvvisamente appaiono quelle esperienze numinose di cui aveva parlato Jung e rimettono tutto in discussione. Non si tratta piugrave; di avere una fede; ossia credere in qualcosa stabilito da una teologia. Lrsquo;esperienza religiosa egrave; vissuta adesso con il corpo (la piugrave; indubitabile delle nostre realtagrave;). Si trova un senso allrsquo;esistenza. Gli orizzonti si ampliano. Si passa dal male al bene hellip;

It covers the history of 40s hair (which I liked) and breaks down how to do specific styles. It also shows you how to do pin curls in a variety of ways. The step-by-step instructions were helpful. However; I was disappointed that there were very few pictures of 40s women in the styles. Instead; the book is full of contemporary women modeling the styles... it would have been nice to see the model alongside a 40s example. Also; the book is written from a British perspective. So; instead of a history of 40s styles from an American perspective; its British. Also; the terminology is British; which I (as a Canadian) found difficult. There are enough new terms anyway without having to constantly remind myself that a tong is a curling iron and a kirby grip is a bobby pin. If you are just interested in the 40s; this is probably still a good book; but if not (and if you appreciate American references) I might try (although its more expensive) Vintage Hairstyling instead.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
