An excellent reference book on Eleanor ParkerBy musicman"Eleanor Parker: Woman of a Thousand Faces" was published in 1989 but with her passing in 2013 this book is even more important to the fans. This book is a biblio-biography with some first-hand background on the actress but mostly a reference in detail on her movies and television appearances from the forties to the eighties. The movie reference is very extensive and lists Eleanor Parker in her well known appearances as well as the more hard to find motion pictures. I highly recommend this book to fans and movie enthusiasts who will enjoy the story of this three-time Oscar nominee.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This is not the fault of the author as Ms. Parker is a very private person and was more interested in her family life and the quality of her work (rather than PR). It seems the author respected this and avoided speculating on her private life. The remainder of the book is comprised of filmography and bibliography information. This material is a wonderful resource for diehard fans of the actress.Parker was highly respected by many of her co-workers who have written glowing things about her. I found more personal information by reading archived newspaper interviews and comments from her co-stars. If you are seeking a detailed biography you will probably be disappointed. However; if you are interested in examining Parkers body of work; this is an indispensible resource.
