I truly enjoyed the stories and quotes Heather received over the years and was pleased to learn about elements of the creation of ska that I didnt already know. When she told the story of an infamous tune by Drummond; I instinctively put on a vinyl side to a classic while reading the stories. Heathers research and writings are a wonderful contribution to the life of Roots Reggae Instrumentals and is a guaranteed good read. Please keep the music alive; learn about it; spread the word; and support it by going to hear it live today! A must-read for any fan of Ska or Jamaican music in general. Fact-filled and entertaining at the same time; it was hard to put this book down until I finished it; and I will be passing it along to others. "Genius and Tragedy" is an apt title!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. AMAZINGBy JavierA great book about "The Greatest" Trombonist of all time; as lover of vintage Jamaican Music i always though Don Drummond life was a mistery to me and i bet for many people; he didnt live enough to make himself know as much we as fans want to; you will read about facts of his childhood and Alpha Boys School wish was the school of many talents in Jamaica. Also the you will read what really happen to him and the relation with Margarita. GREAT GREAT BOOK
