5 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Great aestheticsBy David Stanley AponteGreat book as a great guide of the aesthetics of Lacan for the art student. This book written by Steven Z. Levine who teaches at Bryn Mawr bryn college was the teacher and mentor of Dr K. Malcolm Richards who wrote the book "Derrida Reframed" in this same series. The book is short and a quick read which I find useful on the train and is ideal for the art student curious about broadening their view in western aesthetics in the arts or great for the Teacher so they can bring an art class or aesthetics class to a format for this generation.1 of 7 people found the following review helpful. this book is made too complicated as he is adding lots of superfluous comment/ observationsBy E. Campbellhe makes it more difficult. needs to be PITHY. poor value gave me headache! wiki and yale lectures about Lacan on You Tube were much clearer and simplified ideas to make accessible to me.
