Lots of repeating himself; lots of reiterating and dramatic phrasings. I got about 100 pages into it before putting I couldnt pick it up again. Another reviewer mentioned; "There is no doubt that a lot of hip hop fans wont know what to make of this book at first. It is not a music book. It is a spiritual book". Thats a good way to put it. I didnt expect it to be a music book; but I didnt expect it to mention god so many times per page. Another mentions "much more than just music. In fact the music isnt really even mentioned much" which isnt what I was expecting walking into "The Gospel of Hip Hop". Id buy another album; but not another book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I must admit I was slightly disappointed when I realized the format of this bookBy jennyI must admit I was slightly disappointed when I realized the format of this book. I get that the author; KRS-1; is trying to make it seem like a Biblical book or a book of religion. But there are no references; no bibliography and no notes. I expected a little more scholarly approach to something this big. Still has a lot of great information and knowledge. Thank you!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
