The International conference on Design Decision Support Systems in Architecture and Urban Planning is organised bi-annually by the Eindhoven University of Technology. This volume contains a selection of papers from the seventh conference that was held at De Ruwenberg Castle in Sint-Michiels Gestel; The Netherlands; from 2 to 5 July; 2004. Traditionally; the DDSS conferences aim to be a platform for both starting and experienced researchers who focus on the development and application of computer support in the areas of urban planning and architectural design. This results in an interesting mix of well-established research projects and first explorations. It also leads to a very valuable cross-over of theories; methods; and technologies for support systems in the two different areas; architecture and urban planning. This volume contains 22 peer reviewed papers from this years conference that are organised into five sections: * Applications of Artificial Intelligence; * Visualisation fro Design and Decision Support; * Simulation and Agent Technology; * Design Research and Design Support Systems; * Geographical Information Systems. Together; these papers provide an excellent overview of the latest results in research and development of design and decision support systems in architecture and urban planning.

GLEE has brought public awareness to this field; but its history is so much more than a TV show could ever capture.Weaver and Hart show a love for educational music; an affinity for exposing little known facts and nuances of the profession; and great attention to giving credit to the men and women who have long struggled to bring credibility and recognition to the profession they adore.Music students will love this book for its wonderful photography and interesting stories. Educators will love this book for its trip through time and detail of history. And GLEE fans will appreciate learning the background of this part of Americana they never knew existed. "Sweat; Tears and Jazz Hands" is the book to read regarding the history of the genre of show choir. It is a honest and concise look at how show choir developed and evolved through the years to the current show choir format today. For the Gleeks out there who want to know the how "real" life show choirs function this is the book to buy! This book highlights groups from all over the country who work hard to produce great competative shows for the sheer joy of performing for an audience! It is a great education tool for music educators and students who want to learn more about show choir; fundraising; costuming; show design and how to develop a sucessful music program. FullerWe have kids and their friends in a public high school in southern California who perform in regional and national competitions. They have all found this to be an interesting and informative book about the history and development of their craft and passion. MANY; MANY schools nationwide are listed in the index and/or have photographs shown. Chances are; if you are involved in a school with a show choir tradition; your school is included. However; it is not a "directory" of show choir programs so much as it is an history of this aspect of musical theater and production. Well done niche book.
