Description

Researching Visual Arts Education in Museums and Galleries brings together case studies from Europe; Asia and North America; in a way that will lay a foundation for international co-operation in the future development and communication of practice-based research. Primer for those interested in ornamentBy seth d.This is the first book that I have encountered that not only discusses the different variations of ornament but how they evolved from ancient sources (such as Greece; Persia; or earlier Sumerians; Assyrians)in a simple and coherent way. It is a good book with which to begin the study of ornament and patterns. As an artist it gave me insight into how others adapted and created patterns; and how I can also reinterpret ornamentation for my own uses. The book is full of illustrations that adptly show the authors ideas and progressions of ornament from ancient to modern. I highly recommend.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
