Ringlingville USA: The Stupendous Story of Seven Siblings and Their Stunning Circus Success

DOC Ringlingville USA: The Stupendous Story of Seven Siblings and Their Stunning Circus Success by Jerry Apps in Arts-Photography

Description

This early work by Arthur Murray is both expensive and hard to find in its first edition. Its 250 pages contain a wealth of information on how to learn the art of dancing and include chapters on the Fox Trot; the Rumba the Mambo; all accompanied by instructional diagrams. This fascinating work is thoroughly recommended for anyone with an interest in ballroom dancing and a willingness to learn. Many of the earliest books; particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before; are now extremely scarce. We are republishing these classic works in affordable; high quality; modern editions; using the original text and artwork.

This short; an excerpt from a longer book; is about her first stop; in which she visits the Spiral Jetty on the shores of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. I enjoyed the mix of personal essay and art history/analysis; and thought she did a good job of explaining to a non-specialist audience why this art matters. However; there is still a lot of art history jargon. The book would have been stronger if she could have found a way to put more of the analysis into non-jargon terms.
