Rodin (German Edition)

audiobook Rodin (German Edition) by Rainer Maria Rilke in Arts-Photography

Description

At last...THIS is the book that WILL teach you electric guitar!By Bridget C.I purchase many items off of but dont write as many reviews as I should. But I just had to write in about this terrific book.I bought an electric guitar and amp in 2008 and bought some all around guitar lesson books. They were okay but more geared toward learning on an acoustic. I became enamoured with the acoustic guitar in general and fingerpicking in particular; bought an acoustic and abandoned my electric guitar until recently.Looking at my beautiful but dusty Les Paul sitting in the corner; I walked over to my bookshelf to choose a book to once again work on my electric. Now; I will say that I am NOT shy about purchasing a book or many; many books if I want to learn something so there was quite a selection to choose from. I had a few books that focused on the electric guitar but for the most part they were incomprehensible or started you off with basic chords and strumming; then turn the page and WHAM! it was Eddie Van Halen time. Just no real steady work up in skills and a lot of confusing jargon. Which is probably why I set the electric aside.Well; in the time that I had been working on my mad fingerpicking and bluegrass skills on the acoustic; along came this book. I read the reviews; ordered it and have have been using it for two days and have learned more with this book than the year I spent with the other books from the big name "rock guys".The author is an excellent writer and explains everything slowly but doesnt treat you like an idiot. He starts from the very beginning with teaching string names; notation etc but you can start anywhere in the book according to your knowledge and experience. Each exercise/song teaches a new concept and there is a very good sound quality CD that is enjoyable to play along with and hear what the proper timing should be.I skimmed ahead and quickly realized that; at last; someone has written THAT GUITAR BOOK that we are all looking for when we start out but that no one seems to have written yet but that you hope to write someday when you finally figure out what you are doing so that you can help others and prevent them from wasting so much time and money and hopes....(takes a breath)So...go for it. Seriously; BUY THIS BOOK and you will be playing much more quickly and sounding great and you WILL understand why you are sounding great. Thanks; Mr. Fogg!!!!!Oh and you play really great sounding exercises in blues; rock and country that encourage you to noodle around and find your own riffs and leads to play over the tracks which is something that I had never really been inspired to do before with any other book. The author doesnt just throw a bunch of tired; boring; public domain yankee doodles and scarborough fairs because he is too cheap to pay royalties or some crappy tunes that a kindergardener could write but actual original pro sounding tunes and riffs. Yes; I HAVE been around my fair share of crappy guitar lesson books; thanks for asking!3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. DavisIve sampled a bunch of guitar books -- like Goldielocks at the home of a family of guitar playing bears. This book is just right -- clear text; well paced exercises that sound pretty good and helpful advice. My advice would be to buy the hard-copy and avoid the Kindle version. Audio is not supported in the Kindle version for PC -- I would give that version one star; but its not the authors fault.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A great learning tool.By H EcklesRod Fogg has a great idea. The exercises are in blues format. This gives the feeling of playing music at the start. Great idea! The text and history is informative and clear. Everyone needs books this clear. Thank you Rod Fogg.
