HubersDoug Anderson and crew have captured well the spirit of this little town that was founded by Dutch settlers in the 19th century. Still very "Dutch" in ethos and orientation; the authors help the reader understand this unique ethically based community in its history and current status. A must read for anyone who is interested in ethically-based small town life ala Garrison Keillor.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful pictures of a long ago timeBy marilyn hoffsI enjoyed the history of my home town. I have lived in Arizona for most of my life; but my memories are so imprinted that I can easily enjoy the pictures and history. Seeing my grandfather and other relatives (the Tulip Festival queen and her attendants) in the pictures brought back many memories.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Interesting book to me since I was born in Orange City and then went back to attend four years of college at NorthwesternBy Ardys HansumI enjoyed the Orange City book and feel that the narrative along with the photos made it very interesting. The emphasis on the town itself; the churches; the college; and Tulip Festival was good.
