Sancho: An Act of Remembrance (Oberon Modern Plays)

ebooks Sancho: An Act of Remembrance (Oberon Modern Plays) by Paterson Joseph in Arts-Photography

Description

There is consensus in literature that urban areas have become increasingly vulnerable to the outcomes of economic restructuring under the neoliberal political economic ideology. The increased frequency and widening diversity of problems offer evidence that the socio-economic and spatial policies; planning and practices introduced under the neoliberal agenda can no longer be sustained. As this shortfall was becoming more evident among urban policymakers; planners; and researchers in different parts of the world; a group of discontent researchers began searching for new approaches to addressing the increasing vulnerabilities of urban systems in the wake of growing socio-economic and ecological problems. This book is the joint effort of those who have long felt that contemporary planning systems and policies are inadequate in preparing cities for the future in an increasingly neoliberalising world. It argues that ldquo;resilience thinkingrdquo; can form the basis of an alternative approach to planning. Drawing upon case studies from five cities in Europe; namely Lisbon; Porto; Istanbul; Stockholm; and Rotterdam; the book makes an exploration of the resilience perspective; raising a number of theoretical debates; and suggesting a new methodological approach based on empirical evidence. This book provides insights for intellectuals exploring alternative perspectives and principles of a new planning approach.

Review
1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Some Good MomentsBy JudithLonergans "You Can Count on Me" remains one of my all-time favorite movies; so I was eagerly anticipating Margaret. In my view; however; its something of a let-down. There are some good scenes; Anna Paquin and J. Smith-Cameron (Lonergans wife) are very good. The film is intelligent and it feels like real life. But; somehow the story never came together for me. I watched both the longer cut and the shorter version and preferred the shorter.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed this!By C. MarieI read this as an exercise. I borrowed it from the NYPL along with the movie to ready first the script; then watch the movie. This script is full of intriguing plot twists and fully developed characters. I appreciate the moments when poetry is read aloud :) and I look forward to seeing how the womens issue scenes were directed and acted for the screen. Now Im off to watch the film and work out. You; my fellow lit-lover or writer or student; should spend a few hours reading this script! Its a good one.
