Five StarsBy Paul F Millerok5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. The Story of a PaintingBy Tamas DobozyIts not often that a book about painting can be described as a "page-turner;" but thats what this is--the story of Philip Gustons resurrection into something new and strange. The writing covers vast amounts of territory--abstract expressionism; influences on Guston from the Baroque onwards; the bugbear of Greenbergian "purity;" Morton Feldman in a tiff--but maintains a narrative trajectory. Highly recommended.
