Simple Knits - Bags: 12 Fun-to-Make Bags for All Occasions

audiobook Simple Knits - Bags: 12 Fun-to-Make Bags for All Occasions by Clare Crompton in Arts-Photography

Description

Working with clay; paint; crayons; or pencils; artists have long known that the act of creating art can help people explore the deepest recesses of their hearts ndash; and bring about real change in their lives. Michael Sullivan discovered the power of art for himself in the midst of grieving the loss of a young parishioner. Ever since; he has been using simple art projects as a form of prayer and a way of helping others explore what God may be saying to them.Windows into the Soul is a practical; hands-on resource for those who want to explore this means of prayer and contemplation for themselves; approaching the process not as an artist but as a spiritual seeker. Readers will find projects in various media; including clay; charcoal; and acrylic; including not only technical directions; but a gentle guide to the spiritual gold to be mined from the experience.

Review
1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Good for basicsBy Anton J. RasmussenThis is a good book to open up; play without review; and practice sight reading. There is enough variety with dynamics and time signatures that you are bound to make mistakes here and there... especially a beginner. I would reccommend that you add this to the requesite Anthony Cirone and Wilcoxen books that serve as the foundation for Concert Snare Drum and Marching solos. 10 minutes a day with this book and a metronome will turn you into a drumming BEAST. Good luck! And have fun! (And pick up a guitar--dont forget there is more to music than rhythm drummer buddies ;-)2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Does its job!By AeroZWhile I disagree that playing through this book will turn you into a beast; it IS a good follow up from the basics; and a good way for the advancing beginner to find and isolate what they need to work on. The book is exactly what it says it is: 40 "intermediate" snare drum solos. The only reason why I didnt give this book 5 stars is because there are many books like this that came out before this book; while it is a good book; theres nothing amazing and progressive about it--and surely; that was most likely not the point of this book. However; for a listing price of $7.95; this book is definitely worth it; ESPECIALLY for someone who is just looking for a book with trickier snare drum solos. Another alternative book you might want to check out is Mitchell Peters "Intermediate Snare Drum Studies" (unfortunately .com does not yet have this book; WHY??) or Roy Burns "Intermediate Drum Method".
