Dont let the title fool you. Although the book does indeed contain only images utilizing the alphabet used in the magazine Punch; letters are not the chief importance. The unique range and creativity of the illustrations are immense. It features clip art of objects; people and animals (both characterized and realistic) presented in such a narrative way that you find yourself fascinated to know what story the lettered image began. I personally use this book for the diverse range of stylized faces and body types that were common of political satire of the era. I highly recommend this book for its humor and whimsical creativity.
