Great Scholarly ReadBy SarahI had to purchase this book for a class I took on French artists and the turn of the century (being taught by the author of the book). All of that being said; this was one of the best art history books Ive read to date; and found the lens of the veil to be original and thought provoking. If you are interested in the industrial revolution; feminism; and art this is a must read.
