Review
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. partial; subjectiveBy Liz ZimmermanPartial: I have only one chapter of this book. Subjective: This author was my thesis advisor on my Masters degree. (He doesnt know Im writing this.) Causeys writing style is clear and flows with grace. His work is informative; colorful; and easy to understand so far as theoretical texts go. He frequently uses artworks with a cult fanbase as examples of his theories (Twin Peaks; Videodrome) that add some exciting depth and dimension to the work. Causey is an expert in his field; and his thoughts are fresh and sometimes even frightening in their truth. Highly reccomended for anyone studying media culture; performance theory; cult film; and the history of technology. But beware: youll never look at your favorite media works the same way again. And I only read one chapter.
