This is one of her better-known plays; a time-jumping look at race; class; and sexuality across a century. I found the first half; set in Victorian Africa; far more compelling than the second part; in the latter; it was not clear to me why some of the actors from the first part were assigned their particular counterparts; and many of the interactions seemed whiny.
