A star and her role modelBy Matthew GurewitschViewers of late episodes of The Good Wife; Season 7 will remember Cush Jumbos young; hungry; totally out-of-the-box Lucca Quinn. On the New York stage; she has proved a captivating Shakespearean; under the direction of Phyllida Lloyd; as Mark Antony in a prison-themed all-female Julius Caesar (please dont think Orange Is the New Black) and as Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew. Her smart; swift-paced script tells how her childhood discovery of Josephine Baker--an entertainer who looked like her!--fueled her imagination; ambition; and conviction that her true destiny lay in New York. A lucky few have caught Josephine and I at Joes Pub; where Jumbo played a brief run to fine reviews. An extended season; on Broadway or off; is very much in order. In the meantime; dont miss her words on the page. Five stars; for sure. Why not six?
