The Beggar's Opera and Polly (Oxford World's Classics)

PDF The Beggar's Opera and Polly (Oxford World's Classics) by John Gay in Arts-Photography

Description

The story of Nico; former model; film actress; singer with the Velvet Underground and darling of Andy Warhols factory.;In 1982 Nico was living in Manchester; alone and interested only in feeding her heroin habit. Local promoter Dr Demetrius saw an opportunity; hired musicians to back her; rented a decrepit van and set off with Nico and the band on a disastrous tour of Italy. Over the next six years; until her death in 1988; Nico toured the world with assorted thrown-together bands. They made next to no money; appalled many of their audiences and occasionally; on the rare nights when the music worked; pleased a few.;James Young played keyboards for Nico throughout those years. In this book; he records the never-ending antics of a picaresque circus of addicts; outsiders and misfits who travelled the world - East and Western Europe; the United States; Australia and Japan - encountering an equally bizarre and extraordinary mixture of people: poets; artists; gangsters; losers and drifters. John Cale; John Cooper Clarke; Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso are among those who appear in this story of Nico; the last Bohemian.

The zoom feature has been around since Windows 95. Even with a large monitor this is useless to me. Get with it; guys.Had to return it for a book with far less detail information but better visually on a PC.https://www..com/gp/product/B013TJYY0U/ref=oh_aui_d_detailpage_o00_?ie=UTF8psc=10 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Every Guitarist Needs ThisBy Pat BarbI had the larger; full 8"x11-1/2" size long ago and I may have given it to a friend because I sat the guitar down for awhile in pursuing my career; and was upset I did later. This book is ideal for learning chord phrasings; different voicings and how to build and properly "name" the chord. I play with my father-in-law who plays a Hammond so he plays bass and melody; so I play in the higher register on the guitar to complement what he plays and not compete with each other through bassy tones. That being said; I often have to work at grabbing the right chord phrasing and thats when this book is indispensable. It has every chord type and; unlike my original book; its small and convenient for slipping in a guitar case or gig bag. Every guitarist needs this to learn and master their chords and their voicings all over the fretboard. I never show up to practice without it and never slow down practice because of it.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. More chords than youll ever need.By MosesThis book has more chords than youd ever need. Great large format. My only complaint is that this book would have greatly benefitted from having recessed tabs for each grouping of chords so you can jump from all your F chords to all your B chords; etc. I added post-it tabs to facilitate navigation.
