But the photographs are quite good and it starts off with butterflies and moths and lets face it a lot of us were fascinated with bugs starting with the butterfly; how it can be a caterpillar then a cocoon then a butterfly! so for kids this is a great start out book; The kindle version really gives you an insight to what the printed book will be; but you really will want the printed version if they take an interest to the kindle version as it is only about 46 actual pages and if they are a good reader they are going to want to advance to more than just a picture book but the photographs are terrific in this book and they really chose great species to use for sharp images of butterflies and moths; It does contain some general bits about centipedes; grasshoppers;dragonflies;houseflies and praying mantises but its mostly to get you to see what is in the printed book but if you do kindle books you know that. ; scorpions; *** DISCLAIMER: I received this book download at a discount or free for my unbiased review. Really bad effort to put together what could have been a good bookBy MayaNo one ever edits these books for kids. This book is badly edited; the photos are numerous but verymisleading. A few are labeled with very tiny print; but most are not labeled. The life cycle of thebutterfly is incorrect as are some of the other "facts". If you write a book with facts it is better to checkthem out to be sure you are correct. The book starts out with the lifecycle of the butterfly and while itis all wrong; it at least is a good start. The book goes downhill from there with the small print on a fewlabeled photos. The facts that follow are on a page with some sort of ugly beetle. There may or maynot be a picture of the actual bug they are talking about; but if there is it is not labeled. Some kidsmight be misled by the blasted beetle on the fact pages if they do not know what these creaturesactually look like. A badly; edited and organized book as usual by this publisher.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fun Book For KidsBy AbbyEven though I am an adult I love to read educational books even if they are for children. I especially love books on animals or bugs. I saw this free for my Kindle and thought I would read it. Overall; it is a very good educational book; but the print is so small at the beginning (and I do not have bad eyes). The pictures are wonderful; as most Speedy Publishing books have. This starts by going through the life stages and cycle of a butterfly. This is where the print is very small. After that; there are just fun facts on each page about different bugs/insects. That print is fine and "normal" sized. I would recommend this book to anyone.I received this product at discount for my honest testing and review. I know that a lot of people dismiss reviews from people who get items discounted or free; but I am just as honest in a review that I got discounted as one that I did not. I am under no obligation to provide a positive review and receive no incentives or rewards for doing so. My aim is to highlight features and drawbacks that I would want to know about as a buyer; not hype the product for the manufacturer. My remarks are sincere and my own. While it is true that many items are received at discounted rates or complimentary; my reviews are completely honest and are my personal experiences with the product. Again; it is just my opinion; your own opinion might vary. I received no monetary compensation and I am not required to give a good review.
