Great graphics; would like more text though.By TheNicksterHi my name is Nick and I bought this for part of my homeschool that I do for my grandchildren. I am there science and nature teacher. I have a degree as a nurse and buy all sorts of products.Today I am reviewing Ultimate Predators In The Wild. This is about 50 pages of content; mainly pictures though. It is perfect for about the five to seven year old range so I really could not use it much; I looked it over first then I let the children see it. They were 8 and 11 and it didnrsquo;t do much at all for the 11 year old.It is a good little eBook though with some great graphics. You can see some of the pictures I posted of the images. It does have some nice paragraphs about the animals. It has cheetahs; lions; bears; sea life and a wide range of animals; even spiders are in it. I wish it had more text though. Like I said the majority ofit is graphics and more text would have been good for teaching; yes I can put my own in there but it is not the same thing.I really can not give it a five but will give it a four for a kindle eBook. I do not know if the actual book is any better than this one. I would hope it would be.I am given free items or at a reduced cost for my reviews; I do not always give a five star but I always try to give an honest review. I hope this helps you decide.Thank youThe Nickster0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Its ok.By Mommy to 5 little peanutsI got to receive this for free in exchange for an honest review. I read this to my kids tonight before bed. When I say I read it; I read snippets; a lot of the content would have given them nightmares. Maybe not the big kids so much; but as in the other book; sharks bite you and then leave you to bleed out in the water (REALLY)! I would say discretion is key here too. The reason this book got an ok and not the same rating as the other one is because when I read this one I realized that not only did they use the same pictures for some of the animals; but they even used the same wording. It was basically same book with a few different animals. If I was a paying customer who had just bought both of them at full price only to realize they had a lot of the same content I would have been disappointed; they asked me for an honest review and thats what they are getting. I would have been unhappy paying for two books with the same pictures and wording for some of th animals. That being said; the animals that were not duplicated and even the ones that were. The pictures were incredible. This company uses quality pictures is their ebooks. I mean just beautiful. They got the 3 stars for pictures; and good facts. They lost the 2 stars because this is listed as a childs book and it would scare most kids I know; and they duplicated stuff which annoyed me. I got this for free in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Introduction to the wilds most amazing predators!By Pat CarrollThis book; in my opinion; is most suitable for older children and adults. Many of these animals are quite scary (even for adults!) and if the book were a video Id have to label it "PG." I do think that it could be better organized; with explanations of some of the vocabulary such as "predator" and "prey." In addition; I think it would be easier to read if the animals were introduced in some kind of order (e.g. by continent; type of animal; size of animal; or something similar) rather than so randomly. Also; it would be more effective if the pictures were placed next to the text so there wouldnt be any confusion as to which creature the text is describing. The photographs are simply stunning; and the text very well done and informative. For younger children; my suggestion is to paraphrase the main points but not go into detail about how the predators obtain their prey! Over all; I think the book is excellent and well-done; and quite suitable for most readers. There is a lot of infor mation to absorb and one will come away with a much better understanding of these fascinating creatures.Disclosure: I received this ebook free or at a reduced cost in exchange for my personal and honest opinion.
