The Big-Note Hymn Book (Big-Note Piano)

audiobook The Big-Note Hymn Book (Big-Note Piano) by Hal Leonard Corporation in Arts-Photography

Description

SeigmanWhen my sister recently came to visit me in Texas; she brought with her two postcards from Bethlehem; both of which are in this book; so I went to the website information on back of the card and discovered the book itself. Having grown up in Bethlehem; in a very old family from the Lehigh Valley; I decided to give a copy of this wonderful book to each of our childrens families so that their own children; all twenty-one of them; can appreciate Bethlehems history and our own treasured memories. For example; my father was in the first graduating class from the pictured Liberty High School; where the trolley cars once had their turnaround and from where I also graduated; many decades later. In addition; I often rode those now gone trolley cars that served the town and even crossed the historical New Street Bridge pictured in the book. (Now replaced by a more sturdy and renamed structure; that bridge was wooden; and if one was walking across it; the scenery under the bridge could be seen through the cracks!) The Christmas decorations on Broad Street will be in my mind forever; and the quaint ones shown in the downtown shots were there when I was a child.I intend to annotate the photos and present the details to each family in a folder this Christmas. The book has been a wonderful gift for me; and I hope that many more Pennsylvanians can enjoy their own copies.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. "Home;Sweet Home".............By Pam UngerleiderI am 5_ yrs. of age!!!! I was born and raised in Bethlehem;Pa.I attended the public school system from age 5 thru Liberty High School graduation. It is a hometown that I was proud and loved growing up in.As a young child I remember attending movies in the Boyd and Nile Theaters.I use to walk to "downtown Main;Broad and New Streets" on a Saturday to shop.Walking home from this fun day out we would pass by Moravian College(always an impressive site especially in the Fall with all the falling foliage around the campus) My HS Prom was held at the Hotel Bethlehem;as was my sisters wedding;even though these dates stand out as a wonderful memory in our minds;the Hotel Bethlehem carries an amazing connection all its own and I promise the viewer;Mr.Weiner has a very impressive collection in his" Bethlehem Postcard History" book the "old hometown" is well worth seeing;reading and learning what "used to be".1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
