Review
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Misleading title with disappointing contentBy Dennis H.I had high hopes for this book when I first heard it was ready to be published. Now Im left disappointed. It truly does not cover Fort Worth railroads in a comprehensive way. No photos of the Ft. Worth Belt; interlocking towers such as Tower 55; roundhouses; Hodge; Union Pacific; BNSF; the IGN; the Bomber Spur; Fort Worth Western; the Frisco; local quarry lines; Tandy subway; and a host of other immediate Ft. Worth rail subjects. Not even the zoo railroad! Too many aviation photos and buildings unrelated to railroading are included. In fact; there is as much coverage of Dallas railroads as Ft. Worth railroads! Then we get the photos taken in Arkansas; California; New Orleans; and far parts of Texas well away from Ft. Worth. What does "around Fort Worth" really mean?Caption accuracy is plain wrong in several cases. Photo quality is typical Arcadia Publishing grade. Most photos can be found at online digital collections for free! There were truly no photos of a unique aspect of Ft. Worth railroading for which I just had to have the book. Sorry I bought it sight unseen.
