Shedding some LightBy Mr. Jc PietersenI got this book on a recommendation; and can honestly say that it demystifies so many aspects of Lighting and Lighting Design principles. It is a very good reminder also; to the seasoned professional as a reference guide; with practical references and true insight that is presented in a clear and concise manner. Each principle of light is analyzed and dissected - and as a Lighting Professional that started my career in Graphic Design - I can truly appreciate the Principles that are so carefully presented. The principles are also elaborated on; in terms of their practical application; but also their spatial relevance in achieving mood; uniformity; rhythm; context...This is not so much a technical manual (although technical principles are included); so if you are a lighting engineer looking for the formula to a successful lighting installation; keep looking. This is book is about the experience of light; and the visual principles that guide our perceptions of the illuminated environment.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
