Clear examples are included to illustrate these techniques in action. The work covers: * the performance and effectiveness of passive fire protection measures such as structural fire resistance and means of escape facilities; and active systems such as sprinklers and detectors * the importance of educating for better understanding and implementation of fire prevention through publicity campaigns and fire brigade operations * cost-benefit analysis of fire protection measures and their combinations; taking into account trade-offs between these measures. The book is essential reading for consultants and academics in construction management; economics and fire safety; as well as for insurance and risk management professionals.

I like how he started the book in the very first chapter. I felt it coincided with Hammer of the Gods. If anything; I dont think he sugarcoated or glossed over some details as Hammer did. It was refreshing to hear his outlook as their road manager. I did not find anything that was written in this book offending or demeaning to the members of the band. If you read Hammer first......this book verifies and provides more details of the excess of the band. Led Zeppelin really cared about their fans and putting on the best performance for them. This point is made clearly in the book. The chapters were short and to the point. I feel it was well written and an easy read.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Tour Manager to Bicycle Messenger to Tour ManagerBy Michael SherrerI enjoyed the first hand account of Coles working with Led Zeppelin especially during the hungry years of 1968-1970. His cyclonic self-destruction to that of a laborer and LA motorcycle messenger- following a life of legendary status as Led Zeppelin long-time tour manager was indeed heart-breaking. At rock-bottom he meets up with his old friend and boss; Peter Grant who has obtained and maintained considerable wealth. Never was the ruin by drugs and alcohol abuse so apparent. To his credit; Cole perseveres to some form of stability and solid sobriety in the Afterward account to the original manuscript.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Nice ride!By Dave LopezIt was an excellent read! Compared to other Zep books which was all about Drugs; Sex Rock Roll. It was more like Rock Roll; Drugs with a little Sex sprinkled in.
