The Farm (Oberon Modern Plays)

audiobook The Farm (Oberon Modern Plays) by Nell Leyshon in Arts-Photography

Description

Given her disreputable past; retired teacher Maggie Brodie knows she was a last minute choice for supply cover. Being patronised by the idiotic young headmaster is an indignity she can just about endure. But her frustrations increase when a silent Somalian child in her class; whom Maggie is inexplicably drawn to; is believed by her family and community to be possessed. Maggie seems to be the only one who is outraged and protective of the girl. And if they donrsquo;t listen to her; she will be forced to take action. Drastic action.

Two complete scores are included - one for piano and fiddle; and one for just fiddle. Jays backstory on how he composed the tune is truly magical; and his scores reveal how he plays it (most of the time). This will take me a long; long time to play well; but I love having the sheet music that includes his slides and grace notes as that will speed up my understanding of just how he gets it to sound the way it does when he plays it.Thanks Jay. One of the great compositions of the last 100 years. Worth every penny.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
