Here is some of the information that the book mentions: The cityrsquo;s motto is ldquo;In The Water.rdquo; In 1900; there were less than 100 non-Indian settlers in the Coachella Valley and almost nobody made a home in the Northwest Corner where Desert Hot Springs is now. Cabot Yerxa introduced development into Desert Hot Springs. There is an interesting and useful Chronology Time Table in this book. Desert Hot Springs was incorporated as a city in 1963. In 1992; a 6.1 earthquake hit Desert Hot Springs. The population of Desert Hot Springs was 27;902 in 2004. Some of the pictures in the book include pictures of the following: The Colorado River Aqueduct; Morganrsquo;s Market; Aerial View Of Coachella; El Pueblo Market; and Haidetrsquo;s Hardware. According to the book; Haidetrsquo;s Hardware is the oldest family run business in Desert Hot Springs. New signs could reach a height of 80 feet high in order to be seen from a distance.
