I like the idea of a collection existing for the purpose of knowledge creation rather than just for viewing. One trend in public libraries right now is Maker-Space. -- much like Quicchebergs plan for workshops -- which just goes to show that there really is nothing new under the sun (from the book of Ecclesiastes; quoted a few times in this treatise).Now that Ive read Quicchebergs work; I shall go back and re-read the introductory material by UC Santa Barbara scholars. Im glad to have found this book; and I will look for others like it.
