Good price; great bookBy Anna SWhile Ill never be able to understand how the Impressionists little dabs of color can have such a lifelike and beautiful effect; I sure like their paintings.This book explains how Monet is accidentally responsible for giving the Impressionists their name (he titled one of his paintings Impression and a critic at the time tried to use it as an insult to the artists). This shows Monets importance to the movement and the beautiful paintings in the book show why hes still remembered today. The paintings are on every other page of the book and opposite them you have three little blow ups of a particular bit which is good for seeing Monets famous brush strokes.The pictures are great and the text is even interesting for dipping in and out of. For Monet fans Id definitely recommend this book.
