Good selection of songs with some different arrangementsBy Customer B65I decided to pick this up since there are songs in here Ive never had the sheet music to. I already have a few Kansas songbooks purchased from the early 1980s - the Point of Know Return Leftoverture Special Edition; Monolith; and Audio Visions (all of them now in poor condition). Then in 1982 came the Vinyl Confessions album; which failed to produce a book; so that was the end of my Kansas songbook days; until now!For some reason it was very common for portions of songs to be missing from sheet music. My guess is that it was more expensive to transcribe the complete songs; so large portions of instrumental parts and introductions were often eliminated. Also; it might have been due to the books being aimed toward vocal/piano - they didnt want the singer to have to wait through long instrumental passages? The good news with this Greatest Hits songbook is that at least a couple of the songs contain more music than the original versions from my old books. Dust in the Wind now has the complete introduction and instrumental section; as well as a bonus optional ending. Portrait (He Knew) now contains the entire introduction to the song (minus the first two measures of bass; which is easy to figure out).lsquo;Song For Americarsquo; has to be the poorest selection represented as sheet music here. Itrsquo;s pretty much just the vocal parts. They could have at least did the arrangement for the 3-minute single version; but we donrsquo;t even get that.6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. IncompleteBy Dana GleasonThis book is very; very; very incomplete. Large portions of songs are not included in the book. For example. The entire instrument intro to Song for America is not included. The actual sheet music does not pick up until 3 - 4 minutes into the song. ...dg...0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Shot a little too lowBy James M.Structure is ok; but the arrangements is kind of dumbed down. Good for beginners; but not quite what I had in mind.
