I currently teach a multiage classroom of 1st and 2nd graders with varying ability levels from non readers to students reading at or above a 5th grade level. My rating: 4 starsWhat or if I would use this for: I would use this to teach a lesson to my students about using a variety of books to help us research. What my students thought: My students were interested in some of the facts- but I got the most reaction out of them when showing them the pictures.Quality of photographs or illustrations: My students LOVED the photographs!Depth of knowledge: I actually teach a Unit to my students called; "All About". It is Expository text in which we talk a lot about text features. This is not a good example of text features. I would not use it as a mentor text. But it does provide quality information about tigers.Text quality: Very good. Would be hard for a lot of my students to read. Better for an adult to read it to them. And yet the book is too basic for someone older. So a good read aloud for children around 4-9.╰☆╮ஐ I did get a discount for my honest review of this book; T is for Tigers (All About Tigers) I test all products before reviewing them. I am ALWAYS honest in the reviews I give. I will not give 5 stars unless I think it is accurate in the description and high quality. We read this book together; with my 10 year old doing the reading (which impresses me every time). I dont remember learning all the tiger fact bits that were included in this book in my childhood. The illustrations were interesting; though in this book; the facts were more impacting. The book format really highlights the images and gives ample time for talking about the pictures. One spread has an image with a couple of sentences; then the next is simply an image. This repeats throughout the book and gives a great format for reading together. This book gives enough information to build a foundation; without being too in-depth or overwhelming. For us; it was random; for others; it would work well. I also think this book would work well for a classroom; because there is a lot of opportunity for talking about the pictures; or even completing a written or drawing assignment. Personally; as a homeschooler; I love books like this one that give valuable information in a quick and easy to digest format.Overall: Neat information; as quick or slow as you make it. We enjoyed it; and I think that most young children would be interested in reading this with their grown-up.The Kindle version of this book was provided to me for free; with the expectation that I review it honestly.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful pictures with many factsBy JillianMy Nephew enjoyed looking at the pictures of Tigers in this kindle book ldquo;T is for Tigers from Speedy Publishing. This book is geared for a wide range of readers. It would be great for book reports for the 8-10 year range. The pictures are amazing; very beautiful. No picture is overly scary for a young child. There were many interesting facts; many that I did not know. For instance; Tigers urine smells like buttered popcorn? I might think twice next time I go to the theater for a movie; think I will pass on the snacks.Itrsquo;s not a very long book but they pack it full of many facts. The only problem I had was with the background for the font. It was cute; like a tigers stripes but difficult to read after awhile.Disclosure: I received this sample product at a free or discount rate in exchange for an honest appraisal of the item. I was asked to review it truthfully; no matter what star rating I gave; and I intend to do that. I do test out every product I get so I can give a worthwhile review. I hope that my review has helped in your decision to purchase this item or not.
